The KGCE Fine Arts & Animation program empowers students with comprehensive artistic, technical, and professional skills through the integration of fine arts and digital arts. It nurtures creativity, imagination, and aesthetic awareness while building strong foundations in visual communication and responsible citizenship

1. Artistic & Creative Development

   • Develops strong skills in manual drawing, painting, and creative expression.

2.Technical & Professional Skills

• Proficiency in graphic design for print, digital, and web media.

• Ability to create digital illustrations, layouts, lettering, and visual communication materials.

• Competence in 2D digital animation and understanding of motion graphics.

• Introduction to 3D and stop-motion animation using clay and malleable materials.

Overall Impact

The program cultivates visually literate, skilled, and confident artists capable of contributing meaningfully to the visual culture and creative economy, while enabling them to progress into advanced studies or professional practice in fine arts, graphic design, and digital animation.

• Program Title: KGCE Fine Arts & Animation

• Duration: Two academic years

• Medium of Instruction:

  • Malayalam for all subjects except:

    • English & Workplace Skills

    • Graphic Design

    • Digital Animation

  • These subjects will be taught in English.
    

• Eligibility for Admission:

  • Must have successfully completed Xth Standard (SSLC) from:

    • Board of Public Examinations, Kerala, or

    • Any equivalent examination recognized by the same board.

  • Admission is based on merit with:

    • 50% weightage for qualifying examination marks

    • 50% weightage for in-house aptitude test marks
      

• Registration:

  • All admitted students must register with the State Board of Technical Education, Kerala.

  • Registration should be completed immediately after joining.

  • Validity of registration: Maximum 5 years.
    

• Instructional Duration:

  • Minimum of 36 weeks of instruction per academic year

  • Holidays included, but examination and study holidays excluded

  • Annual system with end-of-year examinations conducted by the Board of Technical Examinations, Kerala

  • Daily schedule:

    • 7 periods per day

    • Each period: 55 minutes

  • Weekly schedule:

    • 5 working days (Monday to Friday)

    • Total: 35 periods per week
      

• Minimum Attendance Requirement:

  • Students must maintain at least 80% attendance each year

  • Mandatory to be eligible for End-of-Year Examination
