ARTONE has risen again. Discover our history, our story, and the new leadership driving our vision. We have returned to serve as a sanctuary for creativity in Wayanad. Our mission is renewed: to reintegrate art into local schools, uplift and preserve indigenous tribal culture, and inspire a generation of unconventional thinkers. We are here to nurture the dreamers and contributors of tomorrow.

Established in 1983 by the visionary Thambi Master,

  • 1983 — The Beginning:
    Thambi Master starts humble art classes with a handful of passionate students, planting the seeds of community-based art education.

    1985 — Expansion:
    The collective formally becomes ARTONE, moving to Mananthavady and Dwaraka. It quickly develops into a vibrant center for art, creativity, and cultural exchange in Wayanad.

    1990–2011 — The Transition Years:
    The school shifts back to Mananthavady town. Despite changes in location and leadership, the ARTONE community remains active, creative, and deeply rooted in Wayanad’s cultural landscape.

    As the result :

    1987–2011 — Training Educators & Artists:
    ARTONE plays a key role in training art educators for local schools and equipping hundreds of young artists and professionals with creative skills.

2012–2025: A New Chapter of Resilience and Revival

  • 2012 – Continuing the Legacy:
    ARTONE keeps its spirit alive by relocating to Sunilji’s Aksharam Tution Center in Mananthavady. Here, the influence of ARTONE continues through students who carry forward its creative energy.

    2014–2020 – Searching for a Permanent Home:
    The team actively explores locations around Mananthavady, keeping the community engaged and nurturing a growing circle of young artists. ARTONE remains a quiet yet steady cultural force in Wayanad.

    2023–May 2025 – A New Foundation:
    After years of planning and perseverance, ARTONE acquires new land and begins work on a dedicated campus—marking a major step toward rebuilding a permanent institution for art education.

    2025 – The Revival:
    ARTONE returns with renewed purpose, new leadership, and a bold vision. The revival marks not just the reopening of a school, but the rebirth of a movement—ready to empower the next generation of artists, educators, and cultural storytellers.
